I'd also like to add one other story about Gary Bromley - his name is actually Garry Bromley, not Gary Bromley. As Garry told me the story, when he was a young kid, he tended to be somewhat lazy and the thought of having to go to all the effort of writing two R's instead of one was daunting, so he began writing his name as "Gary" instead of the proper "Garry". Time passed and he stuck with Gary, and Gar stuck with him. It wasn't until much later in life that he realized that for legal reasons, he should be using his proper two R's "Garry". But for our purposes, the hockey world knows him as Gary (one R) Bromley, so we are sticking with that.
